A FINE AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR 1 lb.-POUNDER SOLID-SHOT CANNON BALL, ca. 1770: In overall very good untouched condition with smooth lightly oxidized iron t. Of solid shot configuration and approx. 1.8 in diameter. In fine condition with smooth dark-colored surfaces. A very nice example of an original 18th Century/Revolutionary War 1-Pounder Cannon Ball, ca. 1770. ***The type of small cannon ball used as a single projectile with a Small Deck-Gun or in a group, as “Grape Shot” with a larger gun.
This was found in a 200 year old barn in southern north Carolina
