This is a family piece from my great grandmother who was born in 1904. She was from California and traveled with my great grandfather, who was on the navy, to Texas in the 40s where she purchased this taxidermy as a souvenir. For my entire life, it has been on a book shelf in my grandmothers (her daughter) house.
While it has been display only, it was on the very top shelf and has collected dust over the years. The silk insert could be cleaned better or removed.
The back is in amazing shape. The armadillo is nice and shiny. There was a piece of wire around the head (which can be removed) but was most likely put there to ensure safety.
