Lot of 12 - Fabergé: The Imperial Eggs Postcards. 1989

• Publisher: San Diego Museum of Art (SDMA) San Diego, CA U.S.A. 1989

Scheduled between 21 Oct 1989 through 7 Jan 1990, SDMA had arranged for the largest exhibit ever attempted in North America of the delicate royal jeweled mechanicals designed and executed by Carl Peter Fabergé, the Russian jeweler of the czars. In particular, the exhibit was scheduled to contain 14 examples of “The Imperial Eggs.” High quality photographs of the eggs were made into postcards to be sold through the SDMA gift shop.
For sale are 12 egg postcards; 11 Continental sized (4”x6”) and one Oversized (5”x7”). Found in the pages of a book about Carl Peter Fabergé, never written upon or mailed through the postal service, the condition is Near Mint with no creases, no exposure to light, or human handling for majority of their existence.
