Black amethyst glass was made in many American glass factories beginning in 1860 and enjoyed its greatest popularity in the early 1930's. In the late 1920’s, Smith Glass created a formula for black glass which shows amethyst when held up to a light, one of the most collected in the industry.
*this one is in top condition without scratches, chips or cracks. It measures 9 1/2 tall and 7 diameter at the widest point.
