Amazingly rare 1963-1964, 69” x 51” Reversible Throw of Black Wool on the outside and white plush faux fur on the inside. Basically unused since 1963. Stored away. There is some age “patina” on the inside shiny plush faux fur where this throw blanket was folded (crease lines, if you will). But for a historic Americana item of 57 year’s age, slight fade lines are endearing, adding authenticity to such a treasure. Would look great on a Midcentury Modern style Bed or Couch. Is photographed on a Victorian style couch. There is a 2 1/8” border of the black wool (with lots of stitching you can see in the photos) on the plush, so Midcentury Modern Pop iconic artificial fur, the beginning of the use of faux/artificial fur in the name of preserving animals and in the name of fashion where you can factory make a gloss/glam fur look. The black and green “Abercrombie & Fitch NEW YORK CHICAGO SAN FRANCISCO” is dated to 1958-1968. This throw is dated to the 1963-1964 season, very Camelot era of USA.
