Peter Petrie has one of my favorite modern American pottery stories. He discovered the art by accident when his car broke down outside of Pewabic Pottery in Detroit. He had to go inside to use the phone and was so astonished, he walked out with clay and went back for lessons. This mug is hand signed and dated to the 1970s. The design is known as slant faced . While there are several mugs and fun pieces out there, the shaving mug is rare and probably the most fun. Three inches tall and 5.5 inches from handle to hanger.
