At that time, many people were seeking Western clothing, and the demand for ready-to-wear garments was rapidly increasing. In response, Tokyo Sewing Co., Ltd. began manufacturing and selling high-quality women's clothing, changing its name to Tokyo Style Co., Ltd. the following year in 1950. The company focused its business on women's clothing for department stores, particularly emphasizing product-oriented principles and achieving growth by providing high-quality products that met the needs of the times. Furthermore, they enhanced their competitiveness by utilizing their own market research and manufacturing system at their own factories. Subsequently, Tokyo Style established itself as a prestigious company in the Japanese apparel industry, and in 2011, it merged with San-ai International to establish the joint holding company TSI Holdings.
