Note: I have handled raw opals for many years now and it is an extremely fragile stone. I have coated this gem in a layer of clear enamel so that you can set it in jewelry without worrying about it breaking, It has been life changing! I have never had an opal break after doing this and MANY without this method. If you prefer, you can remove the enamel with acetone before or after setting it. The stone is polished underneath, you won't take all of the polish off.
