Vintage 9-card lot of 1960s Batman & Robin Japanese menko cards. There are no checklists for these cards, but in all my searching, these 9 cards are all that I've come across for this particular set. So, this is possibly a complete set. Each card is approximately 2 & 3/8 inches tall by 1 & 1/8 inches wide.

Menko, a popular Japanese card game similar to Pogs, involves hand-cut cards that were thrown and played with. The cards, including these, were hand-cut from larger sheets, thrown, & played with very roughly so surviving cards in good condition are rare. In addition, these cards were normally played with and discarded over time rather than collected in Japan.

For collectors, these cards capture the essence of Batman’s global impact and the nostalgic charm of mid-century Japanese pop culture. This lot represents a unique crossover of Western superheroes and Eastern game culture—a true gem for any Batcave collection. Please see images for card condition.
