Greek Black-Figure Kylix Replica, Antique Wine Cup
A Kylix was traditionally used as a shallow wine cup and often depicts scenes from Greek Mythology. This is a beautiful piece, handcrafted in Greece, with a bright red/orange tone and black-figures (many Kylix cups were done in the opposite way, called red-figured). This particular vessel depicts a warrior-type struggle, possibly with Archilles or a Spartan.
These rare replicas were often crafted as museum replicas or souvenirs. There are some signs of wear as seen in the photos.
