This listing is for a cup and saucer set made in Germany in the 20th century to copy a 19th century original. It is called a Captain's cup and saucer given to the captain of a ship after a successful trip.
The saucer is painted with gold trim and the cup has a handpainted ship in the water on it with the name 'HEINRICH BOTEL' Porcelai Hand Painted, by A. Warning Corner Hamburg. The cup is marked on the bottom, Captain's Cup Hamburg Handmalere
The cup and saucer are in perfect condition. The cup is 3.5 inches tall and 4.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.375 inches tall and 6.25 inches in diameter. A very nice piece that would make a great addition to any collection.
Each cup and saucer, are presented in a blue box, with the words written in gold: Original Kapitains-Tasse Nach historischen Vorbildern handgemalt CAPTAIN'S CUP
Both cup and saucer, are in Mint Condition, with no chips/cracks or flaws. The Blue box is A++.
