Vernon Grant was an illustrator best known for his creation of the SNAP! CRACKLE! AND POP! characters for Kellogg's and his whimsical magazine covers for Collier's , Ladies Home Journal , and many others.
Although he was responsible for many successful original creations and thousands of commercial illustrations, he insisted that his favorite subject was Santa Claus! His close relationship with old St. Nick began during the1930's when he enjoyed enormous success illustrating Santa's image for several magazines and card makers. This began an annual tradition of creating a special Santa for his family and friends.
