1940s German made military Field Compass the ORIGINAL BEZARD
German WW2 Compass. “BEZARD KOMPASS” Although this is not marked with German military markings, many of these were issued to German Army Officers and NCOs in World War Two. The Bezard Compass was manufactured by Georg Lufft company located in Stuttgart. The campany logo, a drawing compass with “G” & “L” is located on the back of the compass body with “BEZARD KOMPASS” in relief above. A directional arrow is inside the lid, as well as one on the face of the lid, and slits at the front and rear of the lid allow the user to sight on an object or point in the distance. The marker at the distance side of the compass glass indicates the compass bearing of that “march” point. The compass glass, over the rose, has the maker’s identification, “PATENT BEZARD”, across the West—Ost (east in German) line, as well as the 360 degree numerics and the other compass points. The glass is held by a knurled brass ring, which rotates to adjust.
