1999 Jefferson Black Beauty Nickel . found in some change 20 years ago I had no idea why it was black figured it has been in a fire.I put it up hoping one day that I could find out why .Speaking with a coin expert he explained that in a previous batch from the 60's it was in fact a mint error from being in the annealing process to long and was blackened and some have been sold at auctions for thousands..mine is in circulated condition and wonder if there is someone wanting it to have and possibly put in an auction..it doesn't wipe off and hasn't been used in circulation for 18 plus years wish the person out there that knows what I have and can appreciate it is open for offers but I am getting of age and s.s. isn't helping to pay to have it appraised and auctioned off.thank you .
