Unique vintage Elizabeth Stewart two piece
bathing suit, orange in color, no size tag, fits like a medium in excellent condition. Glam it up in true vintage style with this mod Elizabeth Stewart Play Suit, a vintage top that has a separate skirt. Elizabeth Stewart was a huge brand in the 50s and 60s, and the styles were young and on-trend. Elizabeth Stewart was the daughter of Catalina swimsuits owner, Ed Stewart. When Ed sold Catalina in 1956, Elizabeth and her brothers, David and Bill Stewart, opened their own bathing suit business in Los Angeles. At that time swimsuit styles (along with fashion in general) were beginning to change. The hourglass New Look was fading, and straighter lines were showing up. Elizabeth Stewart’s swimsuits reflected this change.
A happy color very chic! A true original!
