An extremely rare Twinned Fluorescent Whewellite from Krasno Coal Mine, Czech Republic. By definition it is not really a crystal because it is organic but it has a crystal lattice. Exceptional specimen with a pearlescent luster of great optical clarity. It is actually produced sometimes in the kidneys as a result of oxalic acid and calcium carbonate. Hydrated Calcium Oxalate created in hydrothermal vents and also found in coal deposits and sedimentary nodules. It is also seen as small prismatic monoclinic crystals on some cacti. This is about as fine of a specimen as you will find.
Metaphysically speaking Whewellite reduces stress, rage and anxiety. It teaches patience and assists one in becoming self aware of the physical body. It aids the body in becoming self sufficient and less dependent on external factors.
