Listing is for a unique Galena specimen from Fletcher Mine, Viburnum Trend, Reynolds County, Missouri.

Twinned Galena on Botryoidal Pyrite with some of the pyrite covering the galena crystals as well. Excellent small natural cabinet specimen with great contrast and unusual form.

Galena is the primary ore mineral of lead found in ore veins with sphalerite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, tennantite-tetrahedrite, etc. Galena forms grey cubes, octahedrons, cube-octahedron combinations and rarely dodecahedrons.
Hardness: 2.5

Pyrite is found in a wide variety of geological formations from sedimentary deposits to hydrothermal veins and as a constituent of metamorphic rocks. Pyrite forms metallic brass-yellow cubic, pyritohedral, octahedral, radiating, reniform, discoidal or globular crystals. Also often called Fools Gold
Hardness: 6-6.5
