Unused, new in box old stock, Rosenthal of West Germany 6 5/8” tall and 2 3/8” by 2 3/8” square base and top “collapsing building” bisque design by artist Christa-Hausler Goltz. White matte porcelain finish on the outside and glossy white porcelain finish on the inside. Signed and numbered on bottom of vase and on the original domestic West Germany box. 4044/0102. This was first sold domestically, then a year or two later sold abroad in the “studio-line” editions. This is not “studio-line” mass production. The dimensions of this early First Edition are different than “for export” later editions too. As Americans, this is reminiscent of a boxy “Twin Tower.” The twisted Art configuration can’t help but remind us of the “pancake” way the Towers twisted and fell in place. In New York we still have stickers all over saying “Never Forget.” This Pop Art from around 1973 when the Towers were being built is a flower or Bud vase...or just an Artistic decoration that will help us never to forget.
