This is literally the only First North American Edition Copy (called New American edition by Knopf) of Albert Camus's The Stranger available online as of 6/29. A hardcover that's NOT a first/1st can go as high as 200, and there's one currently on abebooks.com selling for 179.76.
I am an avid book colllector, and I would say this book is Very Good, although mercari only has good. The top and bottom cloth spine is intact and not bent in or crinkled, although there is some sunning to bottom spine. The book is very good because of the crinkling to the top and bottom jacket spine. I collect modern first editions, and I would definitely invest in this very rare copy. There are no other damages to the books, everything is pictured. The book has not been read or even opened, so it's tight and clean..
Published by Knopf in 1988, this was the 1st new translation by Matthew Ward in more than 30 years. . Small and compact. PRICE SLASH FROM 141 on 12/28!!
