ca 1960 Impressionist Floral Oil Painting by S. Colby - Beautifully framed in VGC. The technique is a beautifully executed scraped impasto. This original impressionist style oil painting on linen canvas was probably created in the 1960's. It is signed in the lower left quadrant S. Colby . It was remounted, the painting, in a much higher quality frame than as received. The new frame is sculpted wood with an antique gold finish. It made, in our opinion, quite the difference and accented the three dimensional aspect of the artist's stroke and the delicateness of the subject matter. There were no tears to the canvas and the paint remains intact. You must look closely to see it, but it is there. Otherwise it is in excellent condition, with colors that remain very bright and expressive.Please contact me should you have questions or concerns.
