This is a rare instrument toy of the main character from the Walter Lantz animated Woody Woodpecker cartoons. It's a clacker with Woody Woodpecker standing on a tree branch. When you shake the clacker, Woody moves back and forth tapping the tree, and making a tapping or clacking sound. It has his name WOODY WOODPECKER written on the side of the top part of the clacker.
This vintage Woody Woodpecker clacker is about 7 inches high and about 4-1/2 inches across. It has not been removed from the bag, but the bag has a rip in it, so his white hands are a bit dirty, and it has some marks on it, but it is in good condition.
