An attractive Navajo bracelet that features an oval gaspeite cab and hand stamped designs. According to Wikipedia, gaspeite is a very rare nickel carbonate mineral and is names for the place it was first described, in the Gaspe' Peninsula in Quebec Canada. It is a nickel rich member of the calcite group. The stone is set in a serrated bezel and framed by applied twisted wire and peyote buttons. On the reverse, you can see tool marks, evidence of the hand wrought nature of the cuff. Marked Spruce, Sterling and weighs in at a substantial 21 grams. The cuff measures 5 1/2 end-to-end on the interior, with a gap of 1 3/16 and is 1/2 at the widest. In very nice vintage condition.
