Vintage Duchess Vintage Paden City Pottery Vegetable Serving Bowls. Set of 2. One is 8.75 across width and the other is 8 across. The bigger one has one tiny chip under edge not visible from the front. See pic, it's small. Other then that both in very good condition. I believe made in the 40s to early 50s. You get both bowls.
In the early 1900s, a group of Pittsburgh investors bought three farms owned by a man name Paden located near Sisterville, West Virginia, for the purpose of creating a new industrial town. The town was named Paden City.
Paden City Pottery, established in 1914, was the first industry in the new city. George R. Wallace, a Pittsburgh attorney was the first president. The company initially made art ware and kitchenware in brown and white.
