Cork stopper on end. String loop on top. Wood has a lovely warm patina. The tube is visibly in good condition. It spins in the wood case. I do not see any chips or cracks. So as not to compromise any part of this primitive piece, we leave testing (to see if it still measures the temperature of the water) to the new owner's discretion. Very cool piece for that unique collector.
