Offered is a vintage, porcelain, coupe, dinner plate crafted by Schumann Arzberg, Germany, in their Wild Rose pattern. This discontinued pattern features lovely multi-shaded pink wild roses on white porcelain and gold gild and accents on a scalloped ribbed rim. My research found that backmarks containing the type of crown (7 verticals w/one top circle) and lion (not shaggy and dark green or gray w/left leg sharply bent) indicate 1950s – 1960s production. (I believe that the E & R backstamp represents the importers mark.)
IMO this plate is stunningly gorgeous and is in splendid condition given its age with signs of use that are barely perceptible by the naked eye. I saw no chips, cracks, repairs, stains, crazing, noteworthy utensil marks, or bottom wear. Wear at the trim rim is astonishingly light rendering it and the plate bright and beautiful.
Diameter is 11 5/8 inches and height is 1 ½ inches.
This plate would make a beautiful display piece or could serve as a replacement piece.
