The snuff bottle is of flattened round shape tapering towards the base and ending in a short raised oval foot. The material is cloisonne and the prominent design is the six petals lotus flower which was a favorite art motive in Chinese cloisonne beginning in the Ming Dynasty (CE 1368 - 1644.) The lotus flower is a symbol of purity and beauty.
