Messer, Brandt, Gilpin...just to name a few. Sotheby's photographic exhibition was a massive event, and the auction, even more so.
Attendees had four days to review, and then on the last evening was the auction.
Black and white photographs of all subjects...that had to be an incredible evening! You will see that one corner shows evidence of turned pages...and that is the only sign of wear. The photos, pages, are still in pristine condition.
