This wonderful antique hardcover book with 429 pages is titled The Story of Rome From the Earliest Times to the Death of Augustus As Told to Boys and Girls by Mary Macgregor, who also wrote such volumes as The Story fo France. It has twenty plates in color, and they were done by Paul Woodroffe, W Rainey and Dudley Heath. The book has a beautiful cover and spine with embossed gold lettering and decoration on dark green cloth wraps over boards, and it was published circa 1912 by Frederick A Stokes Company of New York. The pages are hand cut or rough cut and the top edges of the pages are gold gilt.
