Beautiful sterling silver gilt (vermeil) ring. The ring is sterling which is 92.5% pure silver, the other 7.5% is an alloy. To make a metal gold toned but still sterling, the remaining metal must be mixed with copper or other gold toned metals to create the color. Such a cool process! The center stone is garnet and oval cut. The other stones are baguette cut and round cut. Notice how the round cut stones cross the center garnet, then continue on the other side of the ring. The ring looks like a sun with rays shining. Gorgeous ring. I almost kept this one, it's soooo pretty. Tested and confirmed sterling.
