This listing is for a rare Vintage Victorian Large Brass Picture Button Fanny Davenport with Parasol & Apple.
Named for a supposed likeness of the English actress, active in the late 19th century (1870 - 1898).
Stamped brass, pierced and tinted and mounted over a dark background. Steel back and wire shank.
This button can be found in The Big Book of Buttons (BBB) on page 384 plate 157-22. Fanny is facing the left whereas the button shown in the BBB is facing right.
It measures exactly 1.494” (37.94 mm) in diameter and comes from a smoke free, pet free environment.
