This lovely deck of antique Fauntleroy miniature playing cards is held by an old leather sterling tipped case. The inside of the case is inscribe, EUR 1883, From Billy Yale and the Ace of spades has written ink inscription, Christmas 1883, from Billy Yale (to) Esther V. Rockefeller . It is also marked, Fauntleroy, The United States Playing Card Co., Cincinnati, O. U.S.A. .

The card backs have a blue and white design of a mother and child with Dearest below. There are 53 cards and only one joker. The gold sheen edges are in very nice condition.

The leather case fits the cards perfectly. It has a very worn leather strap with fragile creasing/tears and a snap closure. Three of the silver corner tips are still in place and are all stamped Sterling Silver . One tip is missing. Brass ends hold the cards in place.

The 2 7/16 x 1 11/16 inch cards are in great condition and the 2 1/2 inch x 1 7/8 inch (3/4 inch depth)
