M-48 Field Pants
Born from a collaboration with 1LDK AOYAMA HOTEL, the M-48 disappeared as soon as it was released.
Cantate has rearranged the French military M-47 field pants, which Martin Margiela once made famous by turning them inside out.
Inspired by the early models of the M-47 field pants that appeared in 1947 and the transition period in the early 1950s, the belt loops are made with a thinner, denim-like design to avoid a too-rugged look.
The use of cotton twill (chino fabric) gives the pants a glossy, sophisticated look. The center crease adds a touch of elegance, making them look unlike any military pants.
The pockets are reinforced with circular patches called chikaranuno (reinforcements) to prevent tearing from stress, and the pocket lining is finished with a raw edge lock stitch on the back, while the front is finished with a folded edge stitch, which requires extra effort.
The colors, olive and beige, are unique and offer a new way to wear them. Why not try out this future vintage?
