A chawan is a Japanese tea bowl used to prepare and serve matcha tea. They are also used during a Japanese tea ceremony.

Kyo-ware dates back to the 17th century Kyoto and features overglaze enamel pigments on a porcelain base. Kyo-ware is considered a traditional craft of Japan.

Purchased by me when I lived in Japan.
