What a great find! This listing is for a folk art/outsider style inspired wooden cutout couple. Their garb is pilgrim/farmer style and their features are quite primitive. I just love their aloof facial expressions. The whole setup/atmosphere reminds me of the American Classic painting to some degree,
The figures measure roughly 16 ½ x 5 x 1 3/8”. There is a built in shallow step in the middle section of each figure. It would allow them to rest on a ledge, but they probably would not be terribly stable. :) The execution of both pieces is quite rustic. It does not appear that there is any real damage on these figures, just normal aging and surface wear. The female figure is signed on the back Jerry, Jan 2, 87
