The outer fabric is highly water-repellent, and the quilted filling is synthetic rather than down. It uses Toray's Sunstate II. Sunstate II offers remarkable insulation that is hard to imagine from its thinness and lightness (reportedly twice that of down for the same thickness), while also being resistant to pests and mold, and has excellent shape recovery properties, making it an exceptionally high-performance material. Compared to conventional filling materials, the fibers are finer, subdividing the air layers within the fibers to trap warmth. The lining is made of fine polyester fleece. It can be worn as an outer layer during the upcoming season, or as an inner layer beneath a jacket.
