This is a modified Sonnar f3.5 lens from a Rollei Compact A2 camera (1970s?). It has been adapted for use with a Sony NEX-E mount.

The aperture works from f3.5 to 22 and is adjusted by the lever on the bottom of the lens (see photo 4). Focusing is done by rotating the front element (approximately 1m to infinity), and the infinity focus has been precisely adjusted.

When viewed with a flashlight, the lens is clean and free of fungus, dust, and haze.

The rear of the lens uses a c→NEX-E mount adapter, which is permanently attached and cannot be removed. A lens hood made from a lens filter frame is attached to the front of the lens, which makes focusing easier.

The last photos were taken with my Sony α7II, using color STD and B&W at f5.6, uncorrected. I deliberately shot in backlight to see the lens's rendering characteristics. The color is characteristic of a Zeiss Sonnar, with a clear and smooth rendering. Under the same conditions, the monochrome image is even more powerful.

The camera was set to aperture-priority auto and shutter release allowed for shooting.
