This is a great set of Italian ceramic small pitchers/carafes featuring a man and woman, hand painted in bold colors of blue, orange, green, yellow and more. They’re numbered and marked on the bottom with “PV Italy” which stands for Peasant Village and for the most part was pottery made in a few European countries prior to 1960. I’m not exactly sure what these are used for, aside from just being cool decorative pieces, but perhaps oil and vinegar, or milk, or even wine. They’re in excellent condition, with no cracks or crazing. There are two slight flaws, which are seen in the last two photos: on the green stripe around the bottom of the woman is what looks to be a chip that has been colored in, and on the front rim of the spout of the man is a very small unpainted spot (not sure if it’s a chip or just an unpainted area). Neither takes away from their appearance. They measure 7” tall x 4” deep including handle, and the base diameter is 3.5”. Each one weighs almost one pound.
