This book presents 30 homes. From 12 apartments to individual houses designed for lovers, there are detached houses. Among the semi-detached houses is the modest Asevelitalo in Tampere. There is a 14-story terrace house. The tower houses in Bremen, Germany, Lucerne, Switzerland, and Jyväskylä demonstrate that it is possible to build high-rise buildings on a human scale. Terrace houses in various regions of Finland are examples of the close interaction between the natural and built environments. The three summer villas featured in this book are Aalto's own Villa Flora (with Aino Aalto), Muuratsalo Koetalo, and the early work Villa Vekara. In the Experimentalist and Riehity houses, you can see not only Aalto's family life but also the experiments he himself developed his ideas.
